The Statler Hotel is an iconic building on Cornell University’s campus, however the limestone facade is in a state of deterioration and does not match the renovated interior of the hotel. This project proposes to renovate the facade of the building in order to give it a more modern look which was inspired by the organic landscape which surrounds it. The new facade would be built out of custom formed cement panels which are resistant to the harsh weather in upstate New York. The project was presented at the Hotel Ezra Cornell conference last year and was extremely well received by alumni and students alike.
